adifferentway supports people to bring more of themselves into their journeys

People come to adifferentway for a variety of reasons.

Ultimately, it’s about each participants’ unique journey.

For some, it’s about learning from my experience as an impact entrepreneur. For others, it’s about changing something in their lives or the world around them.

Some people are looking for inspiration. Some are looking for practical support as they roll out their own impact enterprises. Some are looking to be with like-minded souls. Others feel stuck or lost; they want to break free.

I created adifferentway to help people to travel their own unique path.

I learned from my work with TFT that if we get connected to ourselves and act from that place, we not only thrive atop the wellbeing ladder ourselves, we can help others thrive too and make decisions that help themselves, Nature and those around them to thrive as well.

Living this different way is infectious! And in essence, it’s a social and political act because the way we act effects how everyone around us acts. If more of us can thrive, we inspire thriving in those around us and there’s strong science to prove that’s true.

Is adifferentway for me?

If you've gotten this far, then the answer is probably "Yes". If you're burning to make the world a better place, if you're desperate to do more, you're ready. I created adifferentway to pump up people's tyres, to help them get out in the world and do the thing they know they want to do; to do it bigger, better, faster and with more impact. So many people are stuck or unhappy where they are. adifferentway exists to help you live your life, to travel your journey. To nail it.

What happens inside?

adifferentway is hosted on a platform called Circle. It enables us to create ‘spaces’ on a range of themes where people can post, comment and like. We host weekly check-in events where people can bring whatever they want to the discussion - they can share a win, a challenge, an idea, anything - and other community members can respond with thoughts, ideas, stories, guidance. We have Hot Seats where one community member presents their current action or challenge and we all set about helping.

There are one-on-one coaching/mentoring calls with me and depending on your subscription level - see below - we can have unlimited engagement to help you move forward.

There are courses, most notably, The Essence of adifferentway, where I share the insights generated over decades working to resolve conflicts, build peace, and bring change, all the while struggling to maintain my own wellbeing and the wellbeing of those around me. Right now, I’m building a new course - Start, Survive and Thrive as an Impact Entrepreneur.

There are training resources too - videos and work books I’ve created to convey lessons and insights.

And there’s a wonderful diversity of members in there that you can engage with one-on-one, in groups both inside and outside of the community.

As of July 1st 2024, we have 31 members. Step by step, it’s growing organically. I don’t engage in any heavy marketing push, preferring to welcome people when they’re ready to join rather than hard-selling.

Why adifferentway?

I grew up in the bush of rural Australia, surrounded by farmland, forest and animals. I loved it. I had planned to be a vet until three days after my 15th birthday but then I listened to an ancient forester – Richard St Barbe Baker, the Man of the Trees - speak about his life striving to protect forests and I instantly knew that was my path too.

I set myself a lifetime goal to protect as much of what remains of the natural world and to heal what's been damaged.

It's been a long, beautiful, hugely rewarding, hugely challenging, many times stressful journey ever since, filled with so many joys and some despairing moments too. I started, grew, and transitioned out of my own social enterprise. I threw myself so completely into the work that it almost killed me.

I mediated massive disputes between some of the world’s largest companies and NGOs. I’ve worked in so many places, so often in dark rooms where big decisions are made. There’s been a lot of firsts and many millions of hectares of forests protected, and the human rights of millions of people improved. I’d like to think that old man would be happy.

Yet, there’s so much more to do. Our beautiful planet is in trouble, and us along with it. To continue making my contribution, I’ve started two new social enterprises. Both are growing and making their way, and with adifferentway community, I hope to support others travel, thrive, and survive their own journeys.

I love helping people. Seeing others find their path and travel it, helping them to make their own impact in the world brings me much joy. One of the things I've learned is that we don’t change people, we can only change ourselves but through that, we inspire others to find their own path to change. My task is to help others travel their own journey. When they do, beautiful, grand transformations that benefit people and the planet unfold.

Together, we can create more of that.

What does it cost?

adifferentway is a supportive, inspiring, learning, and action-oriented community.

There are two subscription levels to join. Both come with a 7-day FREE trial period so if it doesn't work for you, you can cancel your subscription and leave.

The first is the Base membership which is CHF64/month or CHF640/year. There are reduced rates for special circumstances - some people from developing countries, students, people in other situations. You can email me at scott@adifferentway.life if you think you might be eligible for a reduced rate.

The second is the Deep Dive membership which is CHF1,200/quarter or CHF4,800/year. This subscription is for people who want more one-on-one time with me; to support their business journey or their own personal transition to adifferentway.

Why isn't it free? Community founders report time and time again that having a subscription helps people get more value from the community. By subscribing, members turn up fully and are more engaged; they've got skin in the game. My aim is for you to get the most value possible from adifferentway and not just be a passive, non-engaged member. A subscription helps you to do that.
